EDUCATION

Education is the fundamental need for social change and economic advancement of a country. GRAUK Education Programme is to make significant contribution to the achievement of education for Sreemangol and Moulovibazar tea garden students, such as, poor, rural children, especially tea garden boys and girls, which would equip them with basic reading, writing, and numeracy. The level of literacy is lower among tea workers and their communities.

GRAUK aims to increase school enrolment rates (especially for the most vulnerable children or who are living in the most remote areas of the tea garden) and teachers’ ability to provide curricula relevant to the needs of the most vulnerable children. During the Covid-19 pandemic that hit Bangladesh hard, part of the budget GRAUK was spent on food distribution to the students as well as families most in need during the lockdown.
